The category taxonomylink
Kariant maintains one canonical category taxonomy — 15 categories spanning software and AI tools, from CRM, Project Management, and Accounting to Generative AI, AI Coding Assistants, and Machine Learning. The full list lives at /categories, and the same category links appear in the header’s Discover menus (Software and AI Tools tabs) and in the footer’s Explore Kariant grids, so category hubs are reachable from anywhere on the site.
Two shapes: the cross-vertical hub and the per-catalog viewlink
A category hub at /categories/<slug> is cross-vertical: it covers every Kariant catalog in one place — software, AI tools, professional services, browser extensions, mobile apps, plugins, and APIs — with a separate section per catalog. It used to show software only; as of 31 July 2026 the same address covers all seven.
When you want just one catalog, use the scoped view at /<catalog>/categories/<slug> — for example /software/categories/crm, /ai-tools/categories/analytics, or /apis/categories/automation. The hub links to each scoped view that actually has listings, and every scoped view links back to the hub.
Both addresses are permanent and each is its own canonical page — they show genuinely different result sets, so neither redirects to the other and existing links to /categories/<slug> keep working exactly as before.
What a category page showslink
Each category page ranks the category’s listings with a transparent, data-driven methodology. Every ranked card shows the listing’s quadrant — Leader, High Performer, Contender, or Niche — alongside its satisfaction and market-presence scores, any badges it has earned, and a movement arrow when it rose or fell since the previous period. A methodology note on the page explains how the ranking was computed. On a scoped view, the rankings are filtered to that catalog.
Below the rankings, each catalog gets its own section of listings in that category. From the hero you can jump to the category’s Grid Report (/categories/<slug>/grid) for the full quadrant view, or open the category’s buying guide.
When a category or catalog has nothing yetlink
Rankings are generated from real reviews and listings, so a young category may honestly say “No rankings yet” instead of showing a padded list. A catalog with no listings in that category says so and links to the full catalog — it is never filled with results borrowed from another catalog. If a catalog section fails to load, the page says the section is incomplete rather than presenting it as empty. Rankings regenerate as reviews and listings grow.

No. Category rankings are computed from review and market data with the methodology shown on the page. Sponsored placement exists only in clearly labeled Boost slots elsewhere — it never alters category rankings.
