Publish free companion listings
Every software, AI-tool or service listing you own carries four free companion listings: one browser extension, one mobile app, one plugin and one API. They are published from /partner/companion-listings and cost nothing.
What a companion listing islink
A companion listing is another surface of a product you have already published — the Chrome extension that pairs with your web app, the iOS/Android app, the Figma or WordPress plugin, or the public API. Each one gets its own page in the matching Kariant catalog: kariant.app/extensions, /mobile-apps, /plugins and /apis.
Companions are free. They are not additional listings: they never consume a purchased listing slot, never trigger the contextual matrix rate, and never charge Koins. Buying an additional listing slot from /partner/listings/add is a separate thing — that is for a second product, not another surface of the same one.
The entitlement: one of each type, per listinglink
The allowance is one companion of each type per parent listing. A single software listing can therefore carry one extension AND one mobile app AND one plugin AND one API — four companions. Publish a second software listing and it opens its own four.
The limit is enforced on Kariant’s servers, not in your browser: a second extension on the same parent listing is refused at submission time with a clear message, whatever the page shows. If you need more than one companion of a type on the same product, contact support — it is not a self-serve purchase.

- 1Open /partner/companion-listings (also linked as “Companion listings” from /partner/listings).
- 2Read the entitlement table: every listing you own is a row, and each of the four companion types shows either “Available” or the companion already using it.
- 3Pick the parent listing and the companion type. Types already used on that parent are marked, and the submit button is disabled for them.
- 4Fill in the name and tagline (required) plus the description, category, website and features. Category, website and logo fall back to the parent listing when you leave them blank.
- 5Complete the type-specific fields — Web Store URL and browser for an extension, App Store / Play Store links and platform for a mobile app, host app and install URL for a plugin, base URL, docs and authentication for an API.
- 6Submit. The companion is created with the status “pending review” and enters Kariant’s review queue.
Review, approval and rejectionlink
Companions are reviewed like any listing. Until the Kariant team approves it, the companion has no public page — the catalogs show published listings only. On approval it goes live at its catalog URL carrying the same plan tier as your other listings: the tier stamp is written by Kariant’s servers (you cannot set it yourself), and it is the same stamp every tier-gated surface reads.
If a companion is rejected, its free entitlement is released: the type shows as “Available” again on that parent so you can fix the problem and resubmit. Nothing is charged either way.
A rejected attempt never costs you the free companion. You can resubmit with the same name and the same web address — the corrected version replaces the rejected one rather than sitting alongside it, and it goes back into the review queue. The same is true of a submission that fails partway: only a live or in-review companion uses the allowance, so an attempt that did not result in one leaves the type available.
If the page says publishing is not live yetlink
Companion publishing is live. In the rare case the page shows a “publishing not available” banner (for example during maintenance), it refuses to submit rather than reporting a success that never happened — nothing is created, so retry once the banner is gone, and contact support if it persists.
Frequently asked questions
Does a companion listing use up my listing slot?expand_more
No. Companions are free and outside the slot/fee rail entirely. Your purchased slots are only consumed by additional software, AI-tool and service listings.
Can I publish two extensions for the same product?expand_more
Not on the free entitlement — it is one extension per parent listing. The server refuses the second one. Contact support if your product genuinely ships two.
Can I hang a companion off someone else’s listing?expand_more
No. The server verifies you own the parent listing before it writes anything; ids of other partners’ listings are rejected.
My companion was rejected — is the free slot gone?expand_more
No. Rejection releases the entitlement, so the type shows as available again and you can resubmit a corrected version — the same name and web address are fine, and the new version replaces the rejected one.
My submission errored out. Have I used up the free companion?expand_more
No. Only a companion that is live or in review uses the allowance. An attempt that did not produce one leaves the type available, so you can simply try again.
